Seven Day Course - Level 3 Advanced Certificate in Wines and Spirits

This course is designed to give a thorough understanding of the principles of wines and spirits of the world. This a serious course which is used as an Industry standard for staff involved with recommending and purchasing wine in the trade. The syllabus is hefty and equates to an A level - most people who attend are professionals wishing to continue their studies, but it can be taken by keen amateurs who have already passed the Intermediate Certificate.

The study hours are recommended as 84, between home study and personal tuition and there are two exams. Total tuition hours on the course is not less than 40 hours. Successful completion of the course and attaining the examination certificate is a pre-requisite for the Diploma in Wines and Spirits. At the end of the course you may take one part of the WSET exam at the national exam rate. Allow a further 2 hours. A minimum of 40 hours tuition.

Lunches, tasting snacks, course book and a set of six ISO tasting glasses are included in the course.

Course Qualification WSET Level 3 Certificate in Wines and Spirits (NQF Level 3)

 

In 2007 we aim to start the WSET Diploma in Wines and Spirits Level 4. The course runs for two years with home study and block modules of tuition. To apply for registration, you must have passed WSET Level 3.
