Ashburton Court consists of two Georgian town houses on opposite sides of the same street, a 2 minute walk to the heart of the town, and a 10 minute walk to the Cookery School. Parking is available on the street.
76 East Street has 5 rooms and is also home to the Garden Kitchen where we run our Cookery Diploma. 79 East Street, with 7 rooms, also has a delightful courtyard, a Victorian conservatory, and orchard garden. It is also where we serve our delicious breakfast from 8.15am to 9.15am.
Each morning after breakfast a minibus leaves from 76 East Street to shuttle students up to the Cookery School and back at the end of the day.
The nearest station is Newton Abbot; services stop there from London Paddington, Penzance, and stations such as Carlisle, Birmingham New Street etc. From London Paddington you can be at our doorstep in under 3 hours, with a train from Paddington at 6pm arriving in Newton Abbott at 8.30pm. Taxis are available outside the train station and it is a 15 minute taxi ride to our front door around £15.
If you are arriving the night before for a course the following day, ask your taxi driver to take you 76 East Street, where you will be met by one of our team and shown to your room.
Travelling from Exeter direction down the M5 continue as the road becomes the A38 and as the dual carriageway divides, take the Plymouth road.
Continue past Newton Abbot until you see the sign for Ashburton (Linhay turn off). Take this exit.
Follow the signs to Ashburton Town Centre which takes you onto East Street,drive 300 yards past a hospital on your right and a Catholic Church on the left.
76 East Street is on your left immediately after a war memorial.
From Plymouth direction travelling on the A38 take the second signposted turning to Ashburton after Buckfastleigh and follow the instructions above.
